The big trend we have seen over the last few years is the move to Office 365 and SharePoint online within local authorities. 

Adoption often follows a first phase focusing on email and OneDrive as a replacement for personal file shares. The adoption of SharePoint as a document management solution and the intranet often requires a migration from legacy systems including SharePoint on premises and older systems such as HP Trim and Open Text Livelink. Once migrated the benefits of using SharePoint as both a document management solution and the Intranet are realised.

Local authorities also have a significant number of processes to automate. Those that are customer facing tend to end up implemented using a CRM system such as Dynamics but there are many other processes that don’t have a natural home and these are ideal candidates for either Power Automate or Nintex workflows.
